🌱 Fancy Italian Coming To Gateway + Latest On SLC’s Pantages Theater

Happy Thursday people of Salt Lake City! Here’s everything you need to know today happening around town.

First, today’s weather:

Mostly cloudy and warmer. High: 55 Low: 42.

Here are the top three stories today in Salt Lake City:

  1. Haute cuisine is coming to the gateway with a new Italian restaurant that bills itself as a modern osteria. Italian Grafitti certainly won’t be the only high-end Italian establishment in Salt Lake but at this point, it lacks peers within the culinary environment of the Gateway as it will serve up fancier fare for the outdoor mall that is in constant reinvention of itself. Also announced is an interior design and custom home furnishings studio Jade Furnish & Design. (Utah Business)
  2. A North Salt Lake man’s remains have been discovered after authorities received a tip that he had been seen hiking on a trail near Provo. This led to a drone team being able to locate the human remains and positively confirm the identity of Andrew Gulledge, missing since New Year’s Day. GUlledge took to the hills alone from a hotel in Provo where he was staying with a friend and didn’t tell anyone where he was going. He leaves behind two children, a three-year-old daughter and an infant son. (FOX 13 News Utah)
  3. Struggling to make headway on a lawsuit aimed at protecting the 100-year-old Utah Pantages Theaterthe group behind the legal effort took to heart some advice given to them by a judge and refiled the lawsuit, dropping Salt Lake City and adding the building’s current owner to it. In an earlier hearing, 3rd District Court Judge Robert Faust said it would make more sense to include the building’s current owner in the group’s efforts to sue to preserve the historic theater, so the Friends of the Utah Pantages Theater did just that. What it means for the future of the theater doesn’t appear to be of concern to the defendends who are confident the plaintiffs still don’t have a viable case. (KSL.com)
