Provo is celebrating its 6th annual Provo Women’s Day on March 6th with virtual and personal activities.

The theme of the event is “Behind the Mask”. The event includes a Zoom series of lectures, fitness and yoga classes, activities for mom and me, a bike ride, a cookie decorating class, and an after party. The celebrations start at 8:00 a.m. and last until 9:30 p.m.

“This event was started as an initiative to increase the visibility of Provo women, promote leadership opportunities for women in our community, and provide women with resources to help one another. We hope that in the coming years it will become a Provo tradition and part of our culture, ”said Mayor Michelle Kaufusi.

The event organizers hope this will be a place where “women can come together and help each other grow and community,” said Whitney Booth, organizer of Provo Women’s Day.

The morning drive-through breakfast and virtual lecture series is a highly anticipated event that will feature lectures by successful Provo women from a variety of disciplines.

“We will be able to hear from women in many areas, such as business and politics. We can make other women feel like they can do these things, too, ”said Booth.

BYU student Ellie Pratt said she was very excited about such an event hosted by the city of Provo.

“The fun and thoughtful events planned in person for Provo Women’s Day made me so excited to be a part of it,” said Pratt. “In addition, it is so important to see that our city recognizes the importance of women in our community and gives them experiences in order to feel strengthened together.”

All women living in Provo are encouraged to participate in the Saturday activities. Masks are required for all personal events.

“I think all women and girls should take part in this opportunity to grow and learn together,” said Pratt.
