A Salt Lake City man sent to Uintah County Jail for kidnapping

UINTAH COUNTY, Utah, September 8, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) – A Salt Lake City man was admitted to Uintah County Jail Monday after an incident that began in Salt Lake and ended in Tridell.

The Uintah County Sheriff’s office said Domingo Diego Jose, 27, has been arrested and sent to Uintah County Jail, where he is on charges of aggravated kidnapping and child abduction.

According to a UCSO press release, Central Dispatch received 911 calls from a woman who “sounded in need”. Before the dispatchers could get a lot of information from her, she hung up.

“Dispatchers cTrying to get in touch with the woman, and through several short contacts, she was able to get information from the woman, ”the communication says. “The woman didn’t know where she was, but thought she was somewhere near Vernal.”

MPs began searching various areas in Uintah County to find the woman, and when more information came in, they were escorted to a location in Tridell.

A BIA officer who was assisting contacted Jose and the woman in a dormitory, and Jose was immediately taken into custody, the release said.

The woman and a toddler with her were hospitalized.

The sheriff’s office said MPs investigated and learned that Jose’s wife was attacked in Salt Lake City and then taken to a residence in Tridell with her young child. The press release said the woman tried to escape from Jose once, but it was unsuccessful.

Jose remains in Uintah County Jail on $ 300,000 bail.
