Barbara Gladys Buist Holmes passed away August 29, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family in Vernal, Utah. She was born October 6, 1932 to Alma and Gladys Richins Buist in Vernal, Utah.
Barbara married the love of her life Benny Holmes on October 6, 1949.
She loved being with her family and grandchildren. Barbara enjoyed doing her yards and flowers. She always made people who entered her home feel welcome and wanted to always fix them something to eat.
She is survived by her children; Denny (Carol) Holmes, of Vernal, Patsy Ann (Milo) Snow, of Jensen, Susan (Arlen) Peterson, of Jensen, Kent (Valerie) Holmes, of Vernal, 11 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great -grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Benny Holmes, parents, Alma and Gladys Richins Buist, brother, Douglas Buist, sister, Delma Watkins and great grandsons, Joseph Holmes and Ryler Lee Lister.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 1, 2022 at 11 AM at the Davis 4th Ward LDS Chapel (3990 South 1500 East) with a viewing 1 hour prior.
Burial will be in the Vernal Memorial Park next to her sweetheart Benny.
Services are in the care of Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
