Boiling order reversed after E. coli was discovered in Oak City water supply

Officials in a Millard County town have overturned a boil order first issued Thursday after a routine test found E. coli in the water system.

According to Oak City’s Facebook page, their second tests passed Saturday morning, allowing officials to overturn the order.

The health department suggested emptying the ice, which could have been made with water starting Tuesday or earlier.

“Cold Water Spring will remain out of the system until further investigation into the cause of E. coli,” city officials added on social media.

When they first informed others about the detection of E. coli, Oak City officials posted online instructions on how to use boiled water safely and on symptoms of potential use of contaminated water.
