Here’s our weekly ranking of BYU football’s opponents with a look at their schedules and matchups.

1. No. 10 Arkansas (2-0, 1-0 SEC West)

Last result: Rocket Sanders ran for a career-high 156 yards and scored Arkansas’ first two touchdowns to lead the Razorbacks to a 44-30 victory against South Carolina to open SEC play.

GameOn: Saturday vs. Missouri State (2-0, 0-0 MVC), 5 pm MT (ESPN+)

What’s up? Former Utah quarterback Jason Shelley threw five touchdown passes to lead Missouri State past Tennessee-Martin 35-30. … Arkansas is 7-0 all-time against Missouri State with the last meeting taking place in 2011, a 51-7 Razorbacks victory in Fayetteville.

2nd no. 17 Baylor (1-1, 0-0 Big 12)

Last result: After rushing for 303 yards in a win against BYU last year, the Bears had 152 against the Cougars (at 2.9 yards per carry) in Provo in a 26-20 double overtime loss.

GameOn: Saturday vs. Texas State (1-1, 0-0 Sun Belt), 10 am MT (FS1)

What’s up? Calvin Hill ran for 195 yards and a touchdown to lead Texas State past Florida International 41-12. … Baylor is 8-0 all-time against Texas State but the last three wins (2004, 2007, 2021) have all been by single digits.

3. No. 25 Oregon (1-1, 0-0 Pac-12 North)

Last results: Bo Nix threw five touchdown passes as Oregon routed Eastern Washington 70-14.

GameOn: Saturday vs. No. 12 BYU (2-0), 1:30pm MT (FOX)

What’s up? BYU freshman Chase Roberts caught eight passes for 122 yards and a touchdown while throwing for another score as the No. 21 Cougars outlasted No. 9 Baylor 26-20 in double overtime. … BYU and Oregon are 3-3 all-time against each other with BYU winning the last meeting 38-8 in the 2006 Las Vegas Bowl.

4.Stanford (1-1, 0-1 Pac-12)

Last result: Caleb Williams threw for 341 yards and four touchdowns as No. 10 USC battered Stanford 41-28.

GameOn: Sept. 24 at Washington, 8:30 pm MT (FS1)

What’s up? Tanner McKee threw for 220 yards, one TD and two interceptions in the loss to USC. … Stanford’s next opponent, Washington (2-0), will host Michigan State (2-0) on Saturday.

5.Notre Dame (0-2)

Last results: Khalan Laborn rushed for 162 yards and a touchdown and Marshall forced three Notre Dame turnovers in a 26-21 upset of the No. 8 Irish.

GameOn: Saturday vs Cal (2-0, 0-0 Pac-12), 12:30pm MT (NBC)

What’s up? Jaydn Ott scored a pair of touchdowns as Cal held off UNLV 20-14 at Berkeley. … Notre Dame is 4-0 all-time against Cal but the two teams haven’t played since 1967, a 41-8 Irish victory at South Bend.

6.Liberty (2-0)

Last result: Kaidon Salter passed for 202 yards and touchdown to lead Liberty to a 21-14 victory against UAB.

GameOn: Saturday at No. 19 Wake Forest (2-0, 0-0 ACC Atlantic), 3pm MT (ACC)

What’s up? Sam Hartman threw for 300 yards and four touchdowns to lead Wake Forest to a 45-25 victory against Vanderbilt. … The Demon Deacons are 2-0 all-time against Liberty and won the last meeting 20-17 at Winston-Salem, NC, in 2012.

7. Boise State (1-1, 1-0 MWC Mountain)

Last result: Hank Bachmeier, who was benched in last week’s loss to Oregon State, bounced back with three touchdown passes to lead Boise State to a 31-14 victory at New Mexico.

GameOn: Saturday vs. Tennessee-Martin (1-1), 2 pm MT (FS1)

What’s up? This was the first time Boise State has opened the season with consecutive road games since 2011. … Dresser Winn threw for 344 yards and three touchdowns in Tennessee-Martin’s 35-30 loss to Missouri State.

8. East Carolina (1-1, 0-0 AAC)

Last result: Holton Ahlers threw a pair of touchdown passes, Keaton Mitchell added two more on the ground and East Carolina pulled away for a 39-21 victory against Old Dominion.

GameOn: Saturday vs. Campbell (1-1, 0-0 Big South), 4 pm MT (ESPN+)

What’s up? East Carolina dominated Old Dominion in total plays (86-43), first downs (30-12), total yards (531-290) and tie of possession (40:52 to 19:08). … The Campbell Fighting Camels dropped a 37-21 decision to William and Mary last week.

9. Utah State (1-2, 0-0 MWC Mountain)

Last result: Weber State picked off Utah State’s quarterbacks four times and shocked the Aggies 35-7, the Wildcats’ first FBS win since 1993.

GameOn: Sept 24 vs UNLV, 5pm MT (CBSSN)

What’s up? Utah State’s next opponent is UNLV (1-1), which lost to Cal 20-14 last week. … The Rebels host North Texas on Saturday.

10 Wyoming (2-1, 0-0 MWC Mountain)

Last result: Titus Swenson scored three rushing touchdowns to lead Wyoming to a 33-10 victory against Northern Colorado.

GameOn: Friday vs. Air Force (2-0, 0-0 MWC Mountain), 6 pm MT (CBSSN)

What’s up? Air Force has opened the season with impressive victories against Northern Iowa (48-17) and Colorado (41-10), averaging better than 500 yards rushing per game. … The Falcons lead the overall series with the Cowboys 30-26-3 and have the last two meetings, including a 24-14 victory at the Academy in 2021.

11 South Florida (1-1, 0-0 AAC)

Last result: Brian Battie ran for 105 yards and South Florida scored five touchdowns on the ground on his way to a 42-20 victory against Howard.

GameOn: Saturday at No. 18 Florida (1-1, 0-1 SEC), 5:30 pm MT (SEC)

What’s up? Kentucky overcame a 16-7 second quarter deficit to take down No. 12 Florida 26-16. … The Gators are 2-0 all-time against South Florida and won last year’s meeting 42-20 in Tampa.

12. Utah Tech (1-1, 0-0 WAC)

Last results: Utah Tech scored 42 unanswered second half points on its way to a 56-10 victory against Chadron State.

GameOn: Saturday at Weber State (2-0, 0-0 Big Sky), 6 pm MT

What’s up? Weber State, ranked No. 12 in FCS, is coming off a huge 35-7 upset of Utah State, forcing four interceptions and held the Aggies without an offensive touchdowns. … The Wildcats are 2-0 all-time against Utah Tech and won 41-3 at St. George in 2021.
