Calvin B. Hutchings

Beaver – Calvin B. Hutchings, 72, died on December 5, 2021 at his home in Beaver, Utah. He was born on July 10, 1949 in Cedar City, Utah, to Norman and Audrey Hutchings. Cal grew up in Beaver Utah and graduated from Beaver High School. He later attended Sevier Valley Tech in Richfield, Utah.

Everyone who knew Cal knew how much he loved owning and working with horses. He could be seen at any time during the day shoeing, riding, and caring for the many horses he owned over the years. Calvin spent countless hours in the mountains with his children, grandchildren, dad, friends and family, where he enjoyed camping, hunting, riding his horses and having a nice cup of coffee. He was a great mechanic and always had a truck to work on, whether his kids, grandchildren or a friend, he loved to help. Cal loved working with his hands and spent countless hours doing projects around his house, woodworking projects, and building with old barn wood. He worked for Carpenters Union, Local, Local for 40 years. He built power plants across the state, along with other carpentry jobs, including building his family home in Aurora, Utah. Cal also worked in Las Vegas, where he spent 20 years building casinos like MGM, Rio, and Mirage, to name a few. Cal loved his cowboy hats and boots and always wore the best western clothes. Cal has lived his life day in and day out. He was proud and grateful for his 29 years. of sobriety. He was loved by his children, grandchildren, and many close friends. We will miss you “Ol Boy”.

He leaves behind his children Brett Hutchings (Ronda) from Beaver, Callie Murray (Chad Tremaine) from North Ogden, Shaun Hutchings from Cedar City and Cody Hutchings from Beaver. Siblings: Sister Hazel Bradshaw and brother Lyle Hutchings. He also leaves 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

In death he was preceded by his parents, Norman and Audrey Hutchings; Brother Richard Hutchings; Brother Russell Hutchings.

The funeral will take place on Friday, December 10, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Southern Utah Mortuary (195 North 200 West Beaver, Utah). Tours are for Thursday, December 9, 2021, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday, December 10, 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Southern Utah Mortuary Beaver, Utah. The funeral will take place in Mountain View Cemetery under the direction of the Southern Utah Mortuary. Online condolences can be sent at www.mortuary.org.
