Carman Forest Dumas – St George News

Carman Forest Dumas passed away Nov. 12, 2022, in Washtonton, Utah. She was born July 19, 1934, in Fordyce, Arkansas, to Lena Kervin Overman and William Elsworth Conrad.

In 1936 the family moved to Ogden, Utah, then Salt Lake City in 1941. Carman attended Granite High School in Salt Lake.

In 1951, Carman met and married her husband of 40 years, Alden Dumas. Together they had four children: Michael, Cheryle Ann, Mark and Diane.

The family moved from Salt Lake City to St. George in 1971. Carman was active in the Elks Lodge and was president of the Lady Elks 1987-88.

She was preceded in death by her parents, all of her siblings, her husband Alden, her daughter Cheryle Ann and grandson Casey Dumas.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
