Choose a cheesesteak
Recently, our friends at the Salt Lake Tribune conducted an online survey to determine which local supplier of Philly cheesesteak sandwiches was preferred. While we have some fine cheesesteak slingers in this great condition, I can definitely support those who lead the pack like Moochie’s (multiple locations, moochiesmeatballs.com), whose cheesesteaks are popular from Salt Lake to Lehi. Another was Sandy’s The Philadelphian (9860 p. 700 East, 801-572-3663, phillyutah.com), the dark horse that has built a fairly loyal following over the years. I was happy to see DP Cheesesteaks (multiple locations, dpcheesesteaks.com) on the list as the South Jordan location has become my hangout for cheesesteaks as it’s close to my hood. Get ready to see City Weekly’s best cheesesteak competitors in our next Best of Utah.

Toritos Tacos are opened
The team at Beehive Distilling (2245 S. West Temple, 385-259-0252, beehivedistilling.com) is now home to a small but stylish taco operation called Torito’s Tacos (facebook.com/toritostacosslc). From 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., the Torito team whips lamb barbacoa, Carnitas, Asada, Al Pastor and pork belly tacos together with a magical-sounding dessert made from sweet potato donuts soaked in a spicy honey syrup Picarone. Those who long for tacos from the region after 10 p.m. will find Torito’s in Willie’s Lounge (1716 S. Main Street, 760-828-7351, willieslounge.com). For those who would like their tacos and ghosts to go hand in hand, your prayers have been answered.

Sausages for on the go
With sausage boards being so hot right now, it was only a matter of time before a savvy entrepreneur started making handcrafted salami flowers and shipping them right to your door. The entrepreneurs in question run Charcutería by KO, an online company that creates beautiful sausage sets filled with charcuterie, cheese and fresh fruit. They offer boxes for every appetite, from small boxes for a party to large party plates. The company is currently operated via Instagram (@ charcuteriabyk.o), where you can process your order using DM and have it shipped anywhere in the counties of Salt Lake and Utah.
