OGDEN, Utah, Dec. 24, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) – Firefighters responded to a structural fire in the 17th Street and Gibson Avenue area of ​​Ogden Friday night.

The fire brigade arrived at the empty, two-story commercial building at around 8:25 p.m. and reported “Primarily all-clear” about 20 minutes later.

Ogden deputy fire chief Mike Slater told Gephardt Daily that there was heavy smoke and flames coming from the front of the building and that fire teams had launched an aggressive attack to put out the fire.

Slater estimated the fire caused $ 30,000 in damage and said it was possible it was caused by passers-by hiding in the building. Nobody was inside when the fire brigade arrived.

Seventeen firefighters from Ogden were on duty with two engines, two carts, an ambulance, an ambulance and the battalion chief. A unit from Riverdale also helped.
