Colleen Marie Willis – St George News

Colleen Marie Willis, age 82, of Eagle Mountain, Utah, passed away on April 30, 2022, in her home after a long, valiant battle with cancer. Colleen was born in Ogden on June 6, 1939, to Alice Anita Kelly and James Robert Marcum. She was the oldest of nine children. She spent her early years in Ogden but later lived in California and then Arizona. She was in Phoenix and Tempe for many years and then moved to Utah, where she spent the remainder of her life in St. George and Eagle Mountain.

Colleen worked in the medical field for many years as a medical assistant. She loved her work and was a valued part of the offices she worked in. She loved helping people and working with the doctors she assisted.

Colleen married Leroy Miller and they had one son, Leroy. She married Charles Leroy Radcliff. They later divorced but were blessed with two children, Michael, and Mary Colleen, whom she considered some of her greatest blessings. Colleen married Byron LeRoy Willis on March 9, 1985, in Scottsdale, Arizona, adding four more children to her family. He was the love of her life. They served a mission together in the California Riverside Mission in 2000 and 2001. They loved serving the people there and made close bonds with the Samoan people they served. They treasured being able to travel together and enjoyed spending time discovering new places. They had many wonderful experiences on their trips and made lifelong memories through these adventures. They loved getting together with friends and family. They liked to go golfing, doing puzzles, playing Mexican train, bridge and other card games.

Colleen had an infectious smile and a wonderful laugh. She had a light about her and the ability to make everyone feel included and special. She had so many talents. She was an amazing seamstress and created the most beautiful quilts. She was a wonderful cook and made absolutely the most delicious pies. She loved her dogs, flowers, music, working in the yard and serving others. She had many talents and interests, but her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. She loved them with all her heart, and they were so important to her.

She is preceded in death by her brothers, Denny and Richard; her brother-in-law Tom; and her beloved husband Byron LeRoy Willis. She is survived by her brothers and sisters: Bill (Noni); Caroline; Annette (Joe); Patrick (Rosie); Kathy, and Steven; along with her children Michael (Sharon); Mary Colleen (Dan); LeRoy; Cheryl; Lon (Ellen); Stacy (Dan); Byde (Melanie); and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Eagle Mountain on Saturday, May 7, at 11 am at the South Pass Ward, 7241 North Ute Drive, Eagle Mountain. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 10-10:45 am There will also be a service held in St. George on Monday, May 9, at 1 pm at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George. A visitation will be held prior to the services from noon-12:45 pm
