Crews rescue Mann from Lone Peak after suffering a heart attack

Officials said a man was rescued from Lone Peak after suffering a heart attack while hiking Saturday.

Members of the Lone Peak Fire District said the Utah County Sheriff Search and Rescue and a Department of Public Safety helicopter helped with the rescue.

They said the patient had wandered for a while before having a chest pain and called 911.

The crews said they could wander to the patient and begin medical treatment.

He was later taken from the mountain in a helicopter and taken to an ambulance, where he was transported to a cardiac center and given a stent.

“We are grateful for the help from SAR and DPS and our best wishes are with the patient and his family,” officials said in a social media post.
