Excessive heat warning, advisory issued for parts of Utah

SALT LAKE CITY — An excessive heat warning as well as an excessive heat advisory have been issued for parts of Utah Sunday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Salt Lake City, the following areas are under an excessive heat warning from noon to 8 pm on July 17:

  • West Desert
  • Wasatch Front
  • Lower Washington County
  • Lake Powell

The areas under an excessive heat advisory from noon to 8 pm are:

  • Cache Valley
  • San Rafael Swell
  • South Central Utah
  • Western Canyonlands

NWS officials say residents can expect temperatures to reach up to 105 degrees across northern Utah and up to 110 degrees across southern Utah for many valley locations.
