Fatal car crash leaves one person dead, two injured in SLC

SALT LAKE CITY – One person died and two others were injured in a fatal accident in Salt Lake City on Thursday afternoon.

The three car accident occurred at 300 N. Redwood Road. Salt Lake City police say Redwood Road will be closed for a few hours between 300N and 500N.

A white sedan was traveling north on Redwood Road when it passed into oncoming traffic and crashed into a purple SUV, which then crashed into a white SUV.

The driver of the white limousine died of injuries sustained in the accident and was pronounced dead on the scene.

The two passengers of the white SUV were taken to the local hospital but are expected to recover. One of the passengers in the white SUV was a child. The occupants of the purple SUV were not injured.

Redwood Road is closed from 300N to 500N for several hours. Due to a serious traffic accident. PIO will be on the northeast corner of 300N.

The identity of the victims was not disclosed.

Police are currently advising to avoid the area as crews investigate and fix the crash.
