Salt Lake City

The University of Utah Health Post-COVID Care Clinic 50 North Medical Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah 84132

Long-term multidisciplinary recovery

In an effort to provide more complete and coordinated care to COVID-19 patients who continue to have lingering effects of the disease, the University of Utah Health has opened a post-COVID-19 care clinic. The clinic, which began accepting appointments June 1, 2021, will provide medical services to self-described COVID-19 “long distance riders” in Mountain West who have one or more symptoms that persist weeks or months after the initial infection . The clinic aims to treat common long-distance symptoms, including:

  1. fatigue
  2. Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  3. cough
  4. Joint pain
  5. Chest pain
  6. Problems with memory, concentration, or sleep
  7. Muscle pain or headache
  8. Fast or pounding heartbeat
  9. Loss of smell or taste
  10. Depression or anxiety
  11. fever
  12. Dizziness when standing
  13. Symptoms worsen after physical or mental activity

Being coordinated by a single provider helps specialists focus on what they can do specifically for a patient as part of an overall care plan. The clinic will also research the long-term effects of COVID-19 in the hopes that it will lead to better treatments.
