GREEN RIVER – In honor of our heroes and loved ones, the flags of honor proudly fly this July 4th weekend in Green River.

The second annual Green River Flags of Honor recognizes all soldiers and service providers, emergency first responders, and any special individual past or present in the lives of residents. Each flag sponsored in honor or memory of a person is displayed with a card with that person’s name on it.

The flags are located in Thomas Moran Park, which is located next to the Green River Chamber on Flaming Gorge Way.

The opening ceremony took place on Friday afternoon at which the Green River Fire Department hoisted a large flag in honor of the event. In addition, members of the American Legion presented the colors to Tom Whitmore Post 28.

The flags will be hoisted until Tuesday morning, July 6th. Visitors can stop by all weekend to see the exhibition.
