Frank James Lucas, 91 passed away peacefully Monday, April 11, 2022. He was born in Salt Lake City on July 26, 1930, to Elza and Marie (James) Lucas.

Frank was a graduate of Ogden High School. He received an AS degree from Weber College and a BS degree from BYU in Industrial Management with a minor in Economics. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Australia for two years. He then served in Korea with the Army from 1953 – 1955.

Frank married Joan Christensen in the Salt Lake Temple on June 27, 1958. Together they had 6 children, 23 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Frank and Joan were married for 53 years at the time of her passing in 2011. Frank was a loving, caring father who was involved with and supportive of each of his children. He was a thoughtful person who genuinely liked to help other people.

Frank spent many years working with his brothers in several family businesses. He had been Vice Pres. of Lucas Builders Supply, Lucas Planing and Dry Kiln Co., Lucas Inc., and the Edgewood Wedding and Reception Center. He also worked for the IRS for several years.

Frank served in many church calls. He was a Cubmaster for approximately 15 years while all 5 of his sons were Cub Scouts. He and Joan worked together as Ward Activity Chairmen for several years and Frank was well known and admired for the great programs and activities he helped to organize.

Frank is survived by his children: Craig (Lynda) of Henderson, Nevada; Scott (Thomas) of Kaysville; Colette (Alan) Ames of Ivins; Bradford (Kalee) of Kaysville; Lance of West Jordan and Ted (Jamie) of Kaysville. He is also survived by 21 of his grandchildren and 5 of his great-grandchildren. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Joan, his three brothers, 2 of his grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.

Frank’s funeral will be held at 11am Monday, April 18, 2022, at Myers Mortuary 845 Washington Boulevard, Ogden. Friends may call on Sunday, April 17 from 6:30 am to 8 pm and on Monday from 9:30 am until 10:40 am. Interment will be at the Hooper cemetery.
