Harrison Elementary School students visit the County Museum | People

SWEETWATER COUNTY – The Sweetwater County Historical Museum hosted a visit by 26 third grade students at Harrison Elementary School in Green River on April 15.

Aidan Brady, Public Service Coordinator, provided students with a special tour of the museum’s gallery and exhibits with a special focus on Sweetwater County’s history, the trona industry and its importance to the community, as well as John Wesley Powell, the one-armed explorer and Scientist and his expeditions along the Green River, Colorado River, and Grand Canyon in 1869 and 1871.

The museum is located at 3 E. Flaming Gorge Way in Green River. The current opening times are Tuesday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.
