AROUND THE BEEHIVE – The postseason is over and the regional championships have been decided.

Now it’s time to win or go home.

The Utah High School Activities Association unveiled the 2021 state soccer tournaments on Saturday morning.

Corner Canyon took No. 1 grade 6A seeds despite its first loss in nearly four years. The Chargers (9-1) ended up with Lone Peak (6-2) and Skyridge (9-1) at the top of Region 4, and all three got bye into the second round – along with Weber, Mountain Ridge, Farmington, Bingham and American fork.

Region 9 co-champion Springville (8-1) defended Timpview (8-2) at the top in 5A. The top eight received byes in the first round, from Springville and Timpview to Stansbury, Bountiful, Provo, Spanish Fork, Lehi and Timpanogos.

The only undefeated team in Utah’s top three classification Ridgeline (10-0) fell back to number 2 in 4A and was ousted by southern champions Desert Hills. The two schools, as well as Green Canyon, earned byes in the first round.

Juab set a 9-1 record that included a 5-0 mark in the 3A South, which was good enough to put the Wasps at # 1 overall in the 3A tournament. Juan Diego, Grantsville and Morgan also received a bye in the first round.

San Juan (9-1) gave Beaver his first loss in nearly three years, and the Broncos took the top spot in 2A. The Beavers won’t open the playoffs empty-handed though, earning a bye in the first round alongside the Broncos, South Summit and Summit Academy.

Duchesne (8-1) secured number 1 overall in 1A, who has three byes in Kanab and Enterprise in the first round.
