IN FOCUS Discussion: Women in innovative science

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) – Utah is a center of scientific development. Think Research Park, Silicon Slopes, and universities across the state. But according to UNESCO (the United Nations Education, Science and Culture Organization), less than 30% of researchers are women, and many of them are published less, paid less, and do not have the same opportunities for advancement as their male counterparts. Monday night’s IN FOCUS discussion highlighted three women who are at the cutting edge of science and technology in Utah.
