Josephine Martinez Obituary (1930 – 2022) – Ogden, UT

“Together Again”
Our dearest sweet, Josephine Castro Martinez, 91, is together again with the love of her life, Raynel Martinez, as she slipped from the loving arms of her worldly family to the patiently awaiting arms of her heavenly family on May 20, 2022.
“Josie” was born in Gallup, New Mexico December 25, 1930 to Atanasio Castro and Maria Alvarez. She and Raynel were married December 5, 1948 and cherished 62 blissful years together before his passing in 2010. She is survived by her daughter Mary Dominguez (Rudy) and son Albert Martinez (Robin). Josie had an unbreakable extraordinary bond with her oldest granddaughter Robin Dominguez Williams (Ben). Our loving, wonderful, sweet & spicy “Nanny” is also survived by six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and sixteen great-great grandchildren.
Josie was a devoted member of Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church and enjoyed camping, fishing, meaningful time sitting on her porch visiting family, feeding the birds, and those “poor little stray cats, they have to eat too.” She treasured her everyday talks with two sisters-in-law, Jennie and Crucita. Nanny made sure no visitor ever left her house without accepting a gift, eating, or at least taking a ziploc baggie filled with treats. Her radiant joy will be deeply missed for eternity by her family and friends. Nanny, you are our heart!
Very special thanks to Georgina “Gina” Mitchel, Alyx Gonzalez @ A-plus hospice, Dr. Mac Thurston & his wonderful staff.
