Lana Jean Fowler Richardson died on June 19, at age 77. She was born May 18, 1945, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and always remained true and faithful to its standards. She served as a Relief Society President, a Primary President, a Gospel Doctrine Instructor, an Activities Committee Chair, 3 part-time missions, and a full-time Senior Couple Mission.
Lana was very talented in music as a pianist, a violinist, and a vocal soloist. She was an excellent seamstress and crocheted many beautiful doilies.
She set up an emergency preparedness business and operated it for 30 years demonstrating her kits to groups all over the state. She wrote and published a book on the subject, Emergencies and How to Prepare for Them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde W. Fowler and Lois H. Thorup, two sisters, Betty Curtis and Genene Chamberlain, a brother, Clyde Jr. and a grandson, Dallin Hayes. She is survived by her husband, Allen H. Richardson, whom she married on July 9th, 1965, in the Salt Lake Temple, two sisters, Susan (Lyman) Smith, and Deanne (Joe) Flurer. She was the mother of Allen H. Richardson, Jr. (Suzanne), William Clyde Richardson (Faith), Charles David Richardson, Stephen James Richardson (Katie), Mark Owen Richardson (Jennifer), Lois LaNae Hayes (Casey), Matthew Earl Richardson (Cindy), and Andrea Agramunt (William). She loved her 15 grandchildren and a great granddaughter.
She fostered 3 children and opened her home to a refugee family from Laos and helped them find an apartment, a car and a job.
She lived in Tonga for three years and helped to share the gospel with the first twelve converts of the Church from the islands of Kiribati.
The world and the Church as well as her family and friends have suffered a great loss as she has progressed beyond the confines of this temporal world through the veil into the glory of the highest heaven.
