Larry Pearce Obituary (1954 – 2022) – Ogden, UT

Larry Scott Pearce (Wind Driver Scotty)

July/26/54 – May/1/22

Sometimes you never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.

Scott loved moments: taking in nature, birds, hiking, fishing, reading, writing phenomenal poetry, photography, and painting. He also received many awards for bowling. He adopted the name “Fierce Pearce” in his youth as he had no fear (skiing, motocross, football, or taking on a brawl).

As a teen, he began a career with the UP Railroad. He worked for 40 years to become an astute Locomotive Engineer with a camaraderie of buddies.

In 2012, the flu shot took away many of his abilities. In 2021 he was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia and survived a house fire this past November. His many pets were a healing source through all of his challenges.

He attended to his backyard with passion. The yard was his sanctuary and oasis, and he held countless barbecues, celebrations, and weddings with family and friends. Everyone will dearly miss Christmas parties with Scott. He would dress in character to the theme and give heart-touching prayers on Christmas Eve over the main dish (he was so proud to have prepared for sharing). Please say a prayer for Scotty. Look for him in the moments. He will be there.

Scott was born in Evanston, WY, and resided in Pleasant View, UT.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Kathryn & Carl J Pearce & Grandparents. Survived by his wife: “Bubby” Joleen Pearce; Two sisters: Lauree (Terry Zigler) and Linda Fussleman (Dave Rowley); Six Children: Chris Gerrard (Tara), Tony Demori, Sam Pearce (Trulee), Sunny (Scott Varney), Nicole (William Gilchrist), Taryn (Brian Manor); and a combined family of Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren. Rest high on that last mountain you intended to climb. You will always be part of us.
