Margot Nessen obituary (1943-2021) – Ogden, UT

Margot Eileen Agee Nessen

(January 20, 1943 – August 4, 2021)

Eileen was pure magic; She has given so many of us her spark that we will carry on forever to everyone we meet. We see her dramatic and cheeky attitude, her passion for politics and community, and her friendly and charming manner in one another and in our children. Her commitment to education is evident in her legacy of italic, multiplied facts and Harry Potter, as do many of her former students.

Eileen was born on January 20, 1943, the second child of Alfred A. Agee and Margaret E. McFarland Agee. She loved her childhood on 16th Street and Henderson Drive. She graduated from Ben Lomond High School, where she was the secretary of the Pep Squad. She then went to Utah State University and worked at the dairy dipping ice cream while doing her Bachelor of Education. After a brief move to California, she established herself as a teacher at CH Taylor Elementary School. She completed two years in 1st grade and 33 years in 3rd grade and retired after 35 years of training.

She married Nyal Nessen and had three children, later divorced and befriended Nyal afterwards.

She was happiest around her family. She loved supporting them and watching them thrive. She was happy to care and help as best she could. She loved good movies, TV shows, and the news. She loved going on adventures and making lifelong friends from simple, everyday interactions, and she was always quick to compliment everyone she met.

Covid was cruel, robbing us of precious time with her, and after she was vaccinated we found out that she had stage 4 pancreatic cancer. It was a short but brave fight that made us make new friends in the medical community. Eileen died peacefully surrounded by love.

She leaves behind her children: Elizabeth Ann Nessen Morrison from Ogden, Michael Nessen (Krystal) from Carrollton, Texas, and Jennifer Lynn Nessen Lopez (Quincy) from Roy. She loved and delighted her six grandchildren: Gray Michael (18), Brinley Raine (17), Wilde Nyal (13), Margaret May Maughan (11), TigerLily Hannah Dawn (Lily Jr.) (8) and Alexandra Ruth (7) . She also has many surviving cousins and a sister. Her parents, Al and Maggie, preceded her in death; her siblings Susann Thomas, Stephen Agee and Allen Agee.

We’d like to thank all of the great people at Utah Hematology-Oncology, McKay Dee Hospital, Pineview Transitional Rehab, Aspen Ridge Home Health, IHC North, and everyone at Costco, their favorite adventure spot.

Instead of flowers, the family would like to ask for donations of school supplies to local elementary school teachers on their behalf.

The funeral will take place on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd, Ogden, Utah, with sightseeing on Friday, August 6, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 9:40 a.m. Burial, Evergreen Memorial Park.
