Two Maui wrestlers received outstanding wrestling awards in their divisions at the Western States Championships in Provo, Utah last week.

Maui Tiger Style competitor Maika Lei Nakamura took first place in the Kindergarten Boys Division with £ 42 – she was named Outstanding Folk Style Wrestler.

Maui Sports Conditioning competitor Mikah Labuanan finished first in the 14-under-120-pound Greco-Roman division and was named Outstanding Wrestler for the division. Labuanan also won his division in folk style and finished second in freestyle.

Maui Tiger Style Club – Kylan Grant Nakamura, who finished second Greco-Roman at 10 under 55 pounds, third in freestyle, and second in folk style; Piikea Joy, Second 14-under 116 pounds in Greco-Roman; Marcus Marinas, third 16-under 106 pounds Greco, first freestyle, first folk style; Kacey Pua, £ 150 High School Third Place Folk Style; Liana Ferreira, second Greco at 16 under 105 pounds, first freestyle, first folk style.

808 Wrestling-Waylon Bal, Second Elementary Kindergarten £ 49; Preston Bal, second 10-under heavyweight folk style; Deja Fernandez, third 14-under 116 pounds Greco-Roman; Nixin Los Banos, third 12-under 100 pounds Greco-Roman; Anela Nita, third 8-under girl 45 pounds Greco-Roman.

Maui Sports Conditioning – DZO Del Rosario, second 16-under 113 Greco-Roman, second freestyle, third folk style; Chaela Gantala, third 14-under 116 folk style.

Lahaina Roughnecks – Kommon Cunanan, third 6-under 49 pounds freestyle, third folk style; Ihilani Elaban, (age and weight not specified) third folk style; Kailee Loebl, (age and weight not specified) 2nd Greco-Roman, 2nd freestyle, 2nd folk style; Alicia Frank, second high school girl 115 pounds folk style; Catherine Asami, second high school girl 180 pounds Greco-Roman, second freestyle, second folk style; Nanea Elaban, 10 under 55 pounds third Greco-Roman.
