New head for EIM captive

Florida-based insurance company Energy Insurance Mutual (EIM) has announced that Megan Ogden will become the new chief operating officer for its cell-protected energy insurance (EIS) service. She will succeed Randy Martin, who is retiring, at the end of March 2022.

Ogden comes from another EIM subsidiary, Energy Captive Management (ECM), which provides administrative support to EIS Mutual Business Program participants. She was previously Senior Vice President of Marsh Captive Solutions and Head of JLT Insurance Management’s Charleston, South Carolina office.

“Megan brings a strong combination of skills and experience to this role. She has extensive expertise in alternative insurance, finance and business development. She has also built significant relationships with EIS participants and in the captive community, having recently served as Chair of the South Carolina Captive Insurance Association, ”said Tommy Bolton, President and CEO of EIM.

Martin has been COO of EIS since 2015. Under his leadership, EIS developed a unique, insured catastrophe bond for forest fires and other bespoke alternative risk solutions for EIS participants. It produced five new cells and posted gross premium growth of 48%.
