Nu Skin: Q3 Earnings Snapshot

PROVO, Utah (AP) _ Nu Skin Enterprises Inc. (NUS) on Wednesday reported a third-quarter loss of $25.4 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, the Provo, Utah-based company said it had a loss of 51 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 47 cents per share.

The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 78 cents per share.

The seller of skin care and nutritional products through a direct-selling model posted revenue of $537.8 million in the period.

For the current quarter ending in December, Nu Skin expects its per-share earnings to range from 40 cents to 60 cents.

The company said it expects revenue in the range of $500 million to $550 million for the fiscal fourth quarter.

Nu Skin expects full-year earnings in the range of $2.40 to $2.60 per share, with revenue ranging from $2.2 billion to $2.25 billion.
