Dr. Jeremy Lee Cook died peacefully and returned to his heavenly home after an 18 month battle with brain injuries sustained in a car accident.

Jeremy was born on August 13, 1984 to Rod and Patti Cook in Vernal, Utah. Jeremy grew up with 3 sisters and a younger brother. He enjoyed fishing and boating with his family and everything outdoors. Jeremy grew up in Brigham City, Utah and was talented in almost anything he tried. He did everything, from soccer and the soccer team to the choir and the school play. Jeremy has always been a leader among his peers. After graduating from high school, he decided to attend the University of Utah on a scholarship before serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Costa Rica.

Upon returning from his mission, he moved to BYU, where he met the love of his life, Jules Critchfield. They were married for eternity on May 3, 2008 in the LDS Temple in Sacramento. After Jeremy graduated from BYU with a bachelor’s degree, he decided to continue his education at Samuel Merritt University to become a podiatrist. Jeremy was valedictorian in his medical school class and was compared to a competitive residency program at Kaiser Permanente. He completed a three-year surgical residency program with Kaiser.

In 2016, Jeremy joined Foothill Podiatry and became a partner of Dr. Ken Runte. Jeremy’s career exceeded expectations and he really loved what he was doing. Jeremy enjoyed the Grass Valley, CA community and the beauty that surrounds it. He and his family often explored the area through recreational activities such as hiking, mountain biking, snowboarding, and boating. For Jeremy, his family has always been a priority. He had an optimistic outlook on life and always took time to have fun, even in hectic times.

Jeremy leaves behind his wife Jules Cook and children Kaiden (8), Lexi (6) and Hudson (3), father Rodney (Anne) Cook, sisters Sharice (John) Bullough, Shannon (Ryan) Hawks, Amber (Matt) Schock, Brother Brandon (Emily) Cook. He was preceded in death by his mother Patti Cook.

The memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 10 a.m. in the church building of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 1255 Bell Road in Auburn, CA.
