Michael Lee Dowdle of San Jose, California stepped into Eternity on November 15, 2021. Michael was born on February 1, 1975 in Provo, Utah, to parents Glen Lee and Melinda Louie O’hara Dowdle with siblings Meagan. born, Kristina and Katharina.
Michael attended Safford High School and, upon graduation, Brigham Young University, majoring in Political Science. He spent his final semester in Washington, DC, where he was a member of Congress. After completing this assignment early and graduating, Michael returned home and took care of his mother, who died of cancer shortly afterwards.
He began working as a real estate manager in California and married Lori Stivers in 2005 and fathered three stepchildren, Danielle, Greg and Tiffany. Lori and Michael later divorced, but remained good friends and supported each other until Michael’s death.

Having a degree in political science, Michael enjoyed talking about politics with friends and family. He also enjoyed sports and went to games with his father. He was a member of Latter-day Saints Church of Jesus Christ and served on a mission in the California Sacramento Mission.
He is survived by his parents, Glen and Teri Dowdle; his siblings Meagan (Anthony), Kristina (Kim), and Katherine; Stepchildren, Danielle, Greg, and Tiffany; his nephew Jaxon Harlan and niece Piper Alford; four step-grandchildren and various aunts and uncles and numerous cousins.
Michael preceded his mother Melinda Dowdle in death; his uncle Don Dowdle; his aunt and uncle Karen and Bill Fishbaugh and his grandparents.
Services for Michael will be held on Wednesday, December 1, beginning with a 9:00 a.m. tour, followed by the 11:00 a.m. memorial service at Latter-day Saints Church of Jesus Christ, Safford stake center, followed by a burial of Thatcher Cemetery.
