Ogden filmmaker is looking for ‘Ogdignity’ in the community | Movies & TV

Kenn Sullivan wants to change the world and believes we can all do it, one collaboration at a time.

Sullivan, who runs the company formerly known as Kenn Films, is now moving forward with even more intent with the new name Badass Filmz. Born in Boise, Idaho, Sullivan traveled the western United States in his childhood and worked on construction sites from the age of 8. At 16 he was a journeyman. From there, Sullivan moved to a successful job as a marketing consultant for 17 years.

One of Sullivan’s clients hosted a meditation class and hired him to do a promotion. When a slot opened for participation, he offered it to Sullivan. There his journey began into what he calls his religion today, his elixir of life, his whole being.

“Meditating has helped me see ways that I get in my own way,” Sullivan said.

Ogden’s own Orluff Opheikens was a great inspiration for Sullivan. “He was Ogden’s greatest cheerleader,” said Sullivan. “When I look at him, I want to be better, more inclusive, more dignified, and now I feel like I’m standing on his shoulders.”

Sullivan’s “why” is far more important than his “what”. Simply put, Sullivan creates promotional videos for its clients. But he goes so much deeper. Sullivan has a unique talent for helping people delve into their own intentions, even if they haven’t fully figured it out on their own.

“I think we are all worth having clarity and seeing how beautiful we really are. I believe that clarity helps people be heard, seen and understood. Cooperation needs clarity. Would you like your own message to be clearer? They found your help, ”says Sullivan on his website. Before Sullivan even starts a video, he prepares himself with a “clarity session” that helps clients convey their unique story and share it with the world.

Sullivan says these sessions are just opportunities for him to be the student.

“We can all learn from each other,” he says. “We are all just one huge organism. We all influence each other whether we are aware of it or not. Everything is constantly changing and we can learn from a place of joy or a place of suffering. It’s up to us. “

While film is his preferred medium, Sullivan also enjoys working with his fellow artist colleagues at The Monarch on all sorts of projects that have been slowly and deliberately created and expanded over months by artists such as Wild Meraki, Gene Chambers, and Austin Luckett.

One of his greatest passions is the concept of inclusivity. In 2020, Sullivan authored the “General Statement of Inclusiveness”, which can be found on his website, kenn.me. His focus is on the fact that “inclusivity accepts and transcends any talk of diversity and is perhaps the most difficult to develop, but also the most mature, humane, dignified and loving quality. This UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF INCLUSIVENESS is the appeal of a community (Ogdigity!) To the social normalization of the violation of human dignity. Continuing to talk about diversity is divisive in nature and usually maintains social exclusivity. Our intention is to raise awareness of the harmful effects of social exclusivity, which heighten divisions and fuel the flames of violence. We’ll also give you an answer. “

“Ogdignity” is a term he coined and a domain he bought to spread awareness of treating others with dignity, starting with those in Ogden.

Sullivan and his partner Brandee Macci also produce “The Badass Show”. A live streaming show streamed on multiple platforms can be viewed at badass.news.

“All of my art is about my why,” said Sullivan. “There is a badass in all of us who deserves to be discovered. I am the art project, all of us. I started this social, nonprofit project to help people share their unique story and bring it to the world. ”But according to Sullivan, he is the one who benefits because the ultimate badassery state is achieved by you learn from others.
