Ogden Raptors lose 3rd place in a row after pitching duel goes south | Ogden raptors

Every starter went through six innings on Saturday night in Idaho Falls, but Ogden cracked the most in the seventh inning and the Raptors fell 9-3 to the Chukars, their third straight defeat.

Raptors starter Nico Tellache came through six innings and gave up one run after Idaho Falls loaded the bases with singles in the first inning.

Ogden was 1-0 to six behind because Nick Floyd was even better, allowing three hits and no runs through six innings.

The Raptors broke through first when Pavin Parks with two outs in the top of the seventh single, Reese Alexiades doubled up and Owen Taylor took a 2-1 lead.

But the chukars reached Tellache at the end of the seventh. Tellache put on two runners and was drawn for John Timmins. With two outs, Matt Feinstein doubled in two runs for a 3-2 lead; with these runs credited to Tellache he eventually got the loss.

Idaho Falls wasn’t finished, however, as Andrew Don and Thomas DeBonville each ran in runs to score 5-2. Timmins was drawn for Mark Mixon, who gave up a triple homer at Kona Quiggle, and the ball game was all but over at 8-2.

Jakob Goldfarb doubled up in Calvin Estrada in Ogden’s eighth-half with an 8-3 score; Webb Little tripled, scoring on a Feinstein single for closing in the bottom half.

Feinstein and Quiggle each drove three for Idaho Falls, which is trying to hunt Billings in the North Division. Although the Chukars share the best overall record in the league with Missoula (46-21), they must win the second half to reach the playoffs and are currently two games behind Billings.

Ogden, who won the first half, is now 19:27 after the hot 18-3 start that included a new franchise record winning streak.

The series in Idaho Falls ends on Sunday at 4 p.m. and on Monday at 7:15 p.m.
