Ogden woman, 25, killed in UTV crash in Uintah Co.

IRON SPRINGS, Utah — A 25-year-old Ogden woman died early Sunday morning after she was involved in a UTV crash near Iron Springs in Uintah County.

According to the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office, the woman had been a passenger in a “side-by-side” vehicle that went off a steep embankment near Red Cloud Loop Rd.

Emergency crews responded to the area they were notified of the crash around 1:30 am Sunday.

“Investigators believe the side-by-side was traveling east on the Red Cloud Loop Road when it went off the shoulder of the road, causing it to overturn and roll multiple times,” a Facebook post from the Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies and medical crews found the vehicle about 40 down the embankment.

Emergency responders attempted life-saving procedures, but the woman died at the scene, the Facebook post said.

The driver and another passenger suffered minor cuts and bruises in the crash.

Investigators believe driver impairment was a factor in the crash.

The victim’s name was not released and the investigation is ongoing.
