Patricia J. Gilley was born October 15, 1953 in Denver, Colorado to Cecil Lester Carter and JoAnn Carol Gilbert. She was raised by her father and step mother, Janice Hall Carter. After years of battling various health issues caused by chronic asthma and thyroid cancer, Patty died on May 7, 2022.
Pat was a veteran of the United States Army, and while serving, met the love of her life, Ray Eugene Gilley, they married May 6, 1977.
Pat was a very sweet, kind, loving mother, who, in addition to her own children, became “mom” to all who entered her family circle. Family was everything to Pat. She enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting with family and friends. She collected rocks with her daughter, and crocheted with her son, Th family loved watching movies, doing crossword puzzles and visiting with extended family and friends. Her grandchildren held a huge area of ​​her heart!
Patty is survived by her children; Shawna Hardman of Roosevelt, Utah; Brandi Gilley (William Goodrich) of Vernal, Utah; and Jeremy Gilley of Salt Lake City, Utah; along with 16 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and all fo those that called her mom.
Pat was one of 13 children; having 11 sisters and one brother: Brother; Steven Carter (Letty), Burbank, CA

In addition to two of her sisters, pat is preceded in death by her parents, Les (Janice) Carter and JoAnn C Kennison; her husband Ray Eugene Gilley; infant daughter, Nicole; infant son, Christopher; mother-in-law Darlene; father-in-law, Raymond Arthur Gilley; and sister-in-law, Raylene Peterson.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, May 16, 2022 at 11 AM at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary. Viewing will be Sunday, May 15, from 6-8 PM and Monday May 16, 9:45-10:45 AM. Burial will be in the Vernal Memorial Park with Military Honors by the American Legion under the Direction of Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
