Provo High School wins national grant to create gaming lab

PROVO, Utah – Provo High School received a state-of-the-art Esports Gaming Lab in partnership with Generation Esports, the Army National Guard, Asus, and Intel.

As a recipient of the grant, Provo High will receive six Asus and Intel gaming PCs, monitors and accessories. Students also receive training on setting up and maintaining the laboratory.

“Since we don’t have a games laboratory, most of the students have to leave the construction site, which can make practicing or competing difficult. . . . Having a lab here at the school would broaden the network and give more students the opportunity to join the club, which has a positive impact, “said Boyd McAffee, director of Provo High School.

Generation Esports will visit Provo High School on-site and help set up the lab later this year.

Provo High School was one of 25 schools that received a scholarship from thousands of applications.
