Roger Earl Wade | News, sports, jobs

1934-2021

Our family is deeply saddened at the loss of our father, father, friend, brother and uncle Roger Earl Wade. Roger returned to our Heavenly Father on August 28, 2021 and danced into his wife’s arms.

Roger was born on May 4, 1934 in Ogden, Utah to Earl C. and Emma Wade. Roger was the oldest of four children. Roger had an incredible work ethic and anyone who worked with him would agree with him. He learned this work ethic by helping his father, who was a general contractor, side by side. He attended Ogden Schools and graduated from Ogden High School. He graduated from Weber College and later attended Utah State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

Roger served in the US Army during the Korean War. In Fort Ord, California, he took first place in his class. Roger met the love of his life Clydene Green at Utah State University and they were married on July 20, 1962 at the Logan Utah Temple. The two lived in Ogden, Utah and later moved to Roy, Utah. Roger and Clydene were blessed with five children Keri, Kami, Kim, Scott, and Kathi.

Roger worked as an engineer for Hercules Incorporated for 30 years. Roger was a dedicated member of Latter-day Saints Church of Jesus Christ and served in many capacities including serving as a missionary in the Ogden Canary for 15 years and as a temple worker in the Ogden Utah Temple.

Roger loved to travel including lots of trips to the beach, cruises, Australia, Fiji, Disney parks, Hawaii, the Caribbean, Mexico and many other places and adventures. Many have been blessed by his example and actions of love and kindness. We will miss him very much until we meet again.

Roger was preceded in death by his wife (Clydene), parents, Clydenes parents (Clyde and Neoma Green), brother (Steve) and in-laws (David & Lorna Chugg).

Roger leaves his children behind: Keri (Jeff) Holley, Kami Bill, Kim (Aaron) Hall, Scott (Jennifer) Wade & Kathi (Justin) Jensen, his siblings; Sharon (Jared) Crowley, Monette O’Keefe, sister-in-law; Connie (Wade) Blakeley, 16 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren, and he was happy to welcome his 5th great-grandson in November.

The funeral will take place on Friday, September 3, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Huntsville Chapel, 277 S. 7400 E. Huntsville, UT 84317. Visit 10:15 am to 10:45 am Funeral, Ogden City Cemetery.
