SALT LAKE CITY – A shuttle bus company with operations across Intermountain West is expanding its operations in Utah.

Salt Lake Express officials said Tuesday that the shuttle service to Blanding, Heber City, Moab, Price and Vernal will be added this month and is expanding its service further east in the state.

The company already had service points on the Wasatch Front, Cache Valley, and communities along I-15 and I-80 across the state such as Logan, Ogden, Salt Lake City, Tooele, Provo, Cedar City, and St. George.

The new route to and from Vernal includes downtown Salt Lake City and Salt Lake City International Airport as well as stops in Roosevelt, Duchesne, Heber City and Park City. The route to and from Blanding includes Monticello, Moab, Green River, Price, Spanish Fork, downtown Salt Lake City, and Salt Lake City International Airport. The company states that the service on these routes runs twice a day every day of the year.

Company officials claim the new service enhancements will provide connections between the Wasatch Front and rural communities in eastern, central and southeastern Utah that didn’t exist before. It offers those wishing to travel to these communities new opportunities that were not available through greyhound or similar shuttle operations.

“These places have so much to offer. They are often overlooked, but they are full of rich history, culture and attractions,” said Jacob Price, owner of Salt Lake Express, in a statement Tuesday. “We hope to serve local communities as well as tourists seeking access to these recreational destinations.”

The company adds that it will also offer residents of the new coverage areas the option to travel to key health services on the Wasatch Frontline or to locations like Salt Lake City International Airport or the Utah State Capitol.

Passengers along the two new Utah routes also have the option of transferring to other routes in different states in the region. In addition to Utah, the entire Salt Lake Express network includes dozens of stops in Idaho, Montana, Nevada, and Wyoming. It also has a stop in Arizona between St. George and Las Vegas.
