Skylar Trunnell | News, sports, jobs

Escalante, Utah

Skylar William Trunnell was born on June 2, 1992 in American Fork, Utah, to J. Golden and Tammy Atchison Trunnell. He was a beautiful baby with big eyelashes and a smile that would light up the room. Skylar grew up in Provo, Heber, and Vernal Utah. After graduating from high school, he joined the Marine Corps and went to Camp Pendleton for basic training. He received the rank of E-5 sergeant. At that time he married his high school mistress and first love, Kelsie Johnson; they later divorced.

He married Autumn Jade King on June 28, 2017, they divorced in 2021 but were still on good terms. Together they shared their two beautiful children: William Howard Trunnell and then daughter Danielle EmAlene Trunnell and. He was proud of the accomplishments of his two children and would tell anyone who listened about his angels. Skylar’s other loves were playing guitar, riding motorcycles, hanging out with his father, being in nature, and just like his mother, he was in love with cats.

He loved playing his guitar. He loved all of his sisters. He had so much fun with Lexie on the Mapleton farm. Riding horses, the golf cart, the tractor, and the riding lawn mower was a dream for a child before they could drive. He helped Stan with the fences and stacking hay in the barn, and laughed with his mother.

On November 2nd, 2021, our wonderful son, brother, uncle, husband, father and friend died of suicide near Escalante after courageously coping with his mental health problems for many years. We mourn the loss of such a fun, intelligent, and loving person in our lives, but we find comfort knowing that his body and mind are now pain free. We love Skylar and are forever proud of him
