Social Media Reacts To BYU Football Win Over SMU In NM Bowl

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – BYU football took down SMU 24-23 in the 2022 New Mexico Bowl. It was a wild finish that saw SMU go for a two-point conversion with eight seconds left in regulation.

BYU defensive back Jakob Robinson came up with the tackle on the quarterback keeper from SMU signal-caller Tanner Mordecai.

The stop gave BYU a victory to cap off the independence era and closed out the Cougars 2022 season with an 8-5 record.

Anytime a bowl game goes down to the wire, social media has its fair share of reactions. The college football world definitely reacted to BYU’s last-second stop over the Mustangs.

Quarterback Sol-Jay Maiava-Peters was also a big topic on social media. The third-year freshman quarterback earned New Mexico Bowl Offensive MVP honors for performance.

BYU stuffs SMU on the 2XP conversion and are an onside kick away from a New Mexico Bowl win. Kudos for the Mustangs going for the win.

SMU owned me all year, betting on or against. When I was on them, the offense struggled to move the ball three yards. When I bet against them, they were the Chiefs. has tip
