SWAT situation unfolding in Provo neighborhood

PROVO, Utah – A SWAT team responded to a house in Provo on Sunday night because of a domestic violence incident.

The situation began as a fight between a mother and father whom Provo Police believe were fighting because the mother tried to take her child away from home.

The fight was physically police said, which resulted in some minor injuries. It was not stated which of the people involved were injured.

The mother and child could leave the house. The woman called the police and told them the man threatened them with a gun and added that he had firearms.

A placement order has been sent to residents within a 1/4 mile radius of the house, which police say is in the 2900 West and 150 North area.

A SWAT team was called in and a Provo PD spokesman told FOX 13 shortly before 8 p.m. that he believed police had contacted the man by phone.
