Variety is the spice of life in American Fork (March 27)

Thank you, Mayor Frost, for standing up for the interests of American Fork City and, in many cases, all of Utah County’s residents.

From the Daily Herald February 12 article: “American Fork City Council unanimously passed a resolution Tuesday expressing the city’s support for the maintenance and continued operation of the North Utah County Equestrian Park, the should be preserved and open to the public without additional private funding. ” Commercial or residential development. “

Thank you, Mayor Frost, for your open and public support of this conservation, which benefits the residents of American Fork, Highland, and Lehi.

Meanwhile, Highland City is working to facilitate a deal that will include a county sale to a private developer as Mayor Mann of Highland seeks the position of third county commissioner to be appointed within 30 days of last Thursday. — I care

Goldberg: America’s Patriotism Deficit (March 27)

US Secretary of State Blinken’s response was NOT disappointing. His honest acknowledgment was that in creating a “more perfect union” we “make mistakes, have reversals, and step back. … But in the course of our history we have faced these challenges openly, publicly and transparently, not trying to ignore them, not pretending that they do not exist, and not trying to sweep them under a rug. “This is true American patriotism. Trump’s lies and insurrections were not patriotism, but destroyed American credibility and damaged our important international alliances. – ADP

China now sees the US as weak. And will act accordingly. Trump was the first president to try to protect our industry from China’s predatory policies. Since the Biden family appears to have serious financial ties with China, one might be a little skeptical about our future with them. – What in Tucket Google

Cox receives first dose of vaccine, says COVID-19 restrictions could be lifted by July (March 25th).

Kudos to Governor Cox for setting a good example for all of us. We can beat this virus! – Josh Jolley

I didn’t realize that Cox is a doctor specializing in virology. Open the state already.

“According to Dr. Borody, the tri-combination of ivermectin, doxycycline and zinc is a near complete cure for the outpatient treatment of COVID. Dr. Borody explains, ‘It’s hard to believe how easy it is to cure the coronavirus.’ “(American Thinker, March 26, 2021) – ILUVUSA2

You can wait until April 10th to begin the next surge from the unmasked. To err on the security side is a good thing. – Joshing et al

LLOYD: Welcoming BYU Women’s Athletics Success (March 25)

This is such an important topic because the women’s teams at BYU are just fantastic and represent so much of what is right and good about BYU. Great respect. – John Hulet

It has only just begun: Kaufusi announces offer for second term (March 25)

I like Mayor Kaufusi as a person, but I’m not particularly enthusiastic about her political record.

I worry that Provo has long suffered from local government officials like yours who prefer a tightly controlled local government – one that lends and taxes loans and issues and multiplies the city code and highly centralizes our local economy while they do a large area operates a number of local business operations, and so on. And that’s not the kind of political system I prefer, whether it’s federal, state or local. It’s suffocating and self-destructive.

I myself prefer a city government that helps me and my neighbors to defend our equal God-given (or natural) rights, otherwise we are free to pursue our own dreams and / or plans, be it alone or in voluntary cooperation with others.

The plans of the many, among mere mortals, are far superior to the plans of the few in general. And aside from defending rights, there is nothing the public sector can do that the private sector cannot do at least as well. Mayor Kaufusi is right that Provo’s people are his “secret sauce”, and I believe that to make Provo an amazing place to live so that we don’t go the same path as Detroit did by “ourselves,” they must stay free govern yourself to death “.

So I myself will look for an advocate of legitimate freedom under constitutional law. – David Edward Garber

North County Equestrian Park Future to Be Discussed at City Hall (March 24)

There’s a proposal from a developer working with Highland City to buy the land and develop it into a football complex and Highland City Rec Center. (This suggestion benefits the developer as the land will be worth millions once Highland puts in utilities, which makes development possible.)

It is important to know that this land can be developed for public use by the three surrounding cities (AF, Lehi and Highland) without the involvement of a private developer who then owns part of the land and benefits from it, as many as possible Include people outside of the scope as possible.

There is another proposal that doesn’t involve a private developer. The county owns the land and AF wants to work with Lehi and Highland to annex the land that belongs to the three cities (without paying for it as we as taxpayers and residents of the county don’t have to buy it from ourselves). It can then be expanded by the cities into a public park with pickleball courts and other public spaces.

This plan benefits highland residents who have access to these public parks and save them the expense of managing an unneeded recreation center (the developer falsely claims that urban recreation centers are profitable). This combined city proposal would benefit residents of Highland, AF City and Lehi because of the public spaces available for their use and made available for development into public spaces such as pickleball courts and other open spaces suitable for the area.

This also benefits the riders who use the park as its upkeep can easily be paid for from PARC funds Lehi and AF receive from companies in their cities rather than relying on a private developer to keep their interests going finance. — I care
