Tamara Fullmer Obituary (1950 – 2022) – Sandy, UT

Sandy, UT – Tamara “Tami” Lee Andrew Fullmer, age 71, passed away on April 22, 2022, after a heroic battle with cancer. Tami was born on May 12, 1950, in Salt Lake City, UT. She was the oldest of five children born to Ronald and Lillian Andrew. They raised their family in Salt Lake City. Ronald and Lillian instilled the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ, of hard work and of family.

Tami attended Granite High School and later attended the University of Utah. She made friends wherever she went.

After graduating from the University of Utah, she went to work at the Salt Lake County Youth Detention Facility to help struggling youth. While working there, she met and fell in love with a co-worker, Gary Ross Fullmer, who became her eternal companion. They were married on August 23, 1972. They raised their family consisting of three boys together in Sandy, UT. They loved each other dearly and were together for 50 years.

Tami had a gift for making friends and for making others feel loved. She loved all those around her and she valued spending time with others. She often sought out the person that could benefit from a kind gesture and then followed her heart into action to lift others.

Tami was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served those within her sphere of influence with Christlike love. She served in many callings including Young Women’s, Relief Society and in Primary. In her later years, she was known in the ward as “Grandma Tami” to countless children and impacted the lives of many with her kindness and love (and treats).

Tami was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, daughter, and friend to all who knew her.

One of Tami’s favorite things was to bring extended family and friends together to celebrate events – Christmas, Thanksgiving, 4th of July, 24th of July were some of the favorites. She loved to see everyone together and spread joy (and food) to as many people as possible while everyone was together. She had the wonderful talent of bringing people together.

Tami is survived by husband Gary; sons Andrew (Sarah, Josh, Ava, Alayah) and Jeremy; and siblings Linda (Paul), Kirk (Lynette) and Sonja (Kurtis). She is preceded in death by her son Clark, her sister Korey and her parents Ronald and Lillian Andrew.
