Teen forced to drink alcohol was sexually assaulted by 4 men, charges say

SALT LAKE CITY – Four men accused of taking turns sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl in Midvale are now facing serious criminal charges with potential jail sentences.

Christian Nkunda-Makoma, 25, of West Valley City; Aime Byuma, 33, of West Valley City; Patrick Bigirmana, 26, of Midvale; and Juvidh Ndabereye, 22, of South Salt Lake, were each charged with aggravated kidnapping and aggravated sexual assault, both first-degree crimes, in the 3rd District Court. The four are also charged with three counts of violent sexual abuse, a second-degree crime.

Police say a 15-year-old girl met Bigirmana through a dating app, and after a few weeks of communication, Bigirmana invited the girl over for a meeting with friends. But the girl told the police that she was worried when she got there because there was no party going on and only she and the four men were in the apartment, according to the indictment documents.

The girl said the men then “ordered” her to drink several shots of alcohol, which made her feel weak. The men then took her to a bedroom, stripped her, and took turns attacking her. the charge status.

“I just lay there and couldn’t really move,” the girl told the police, according to court records.

The girl was forced to drink more alcohol and was sexually assaulted several times, the indictment said.

While telling the men to use the toilet, the girl activated the Life360 app on her phone, which was supposed to share someone’s location in an emergency, and contacted several friends, the prosecution said. The girl then went back to the bedroom and passed out. Several policemen in the apartment woke her up.

The police found that the girl appeared impaired and called an ambulance.

While she was being transported to the hospital in an ambulance, the girl said to an officer, “You raped me” and “I was too weak to push her off. I didn’t want them to hurt me, so I just let them do it, “the loading documents read.

Prosecutors have requested that all four men be detained in the Salt Lake County Jail without bail.

Byuma was also charged on Friday for providing false information to a police officer, a Class C offense.
