GREEN RIVER – During a special Tuesday morning meeting, the Sweetwater County Commission accepted an offer for a county-owned building for sale in Green River.
The property is located at 115 E. Flaming Gorge Way in Green River and was used as a community service building.
A local dentist bought the building and plans to move his practice into it. The retail price is $ 370,000. The building’s valuation before it was listed was between $ 350,000 and $ 400,000, according to Commissioner Jeff Smith.
The commissioners approved the sale after an executive meeting at the 8:30 am virtual meeting.
Selling unused county-owned facilities is an option the Commission has considered during times of reduced revenue. The building on Flaming Gorge Way went up for sale in December. An offer was made and the commission approved a counter offer after an executive meeting at the January 5th regular meeting.
