The human dies after being hit by a car while crossing Ogden Street

OGDEN – A man walking his bike down a darkly lit Ogden Street was killed Monday after police alleged he was hit by a car.

At some point after 7 p.m., police said the man rode his bike east on 28th Street near the Wall Avenue intersection in Ogden.

At one point, the man who Ogden Police say is 60 years old got off his bike while crossing the street. Shortly after, he was hit by a car going north on Wall Avenue. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the man, whose identity was not disclosed Monday night, wore dark clothes on a poorly lit stretch of street with no crosswalks and no traffic lights.

The driver cooperated with officers, police said, and impairment did not appear to be a factor.
