VERNAL, Utah – Police arrested nearly $ 74,000 worth of illegal drugs at a Vernal residence in early March.

On March 12, the Uintah Basin Narcotics and DEA agents were involved in a joint operation involving a Vernal resident suspected of trafficking in illicit drugs.

Nearly three ounces of methamphetamine, a large amount of heroin, LSD, ecstasy, and drug paraphernalia were recovered during the bust. The total street value of illicit narcotics is nearly $ 74,000.

According to police, three adult men and two teenagers were charged with possession and / or distribution of methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine, LSD and drug paraphernalia.

The names of the people were not immediately provided due to the ongoing investigation into the incident.

Three handguns were also discovered and confiscated during the bust. Two of the handguns were hidden in a shop.

As a result of this operation, three adult men and two teenagers. The total street value of illegal narcotics confiscated during this operation is nearly $ 74,000.00. As the investigation has not yet been completed, the arrested persons will not be named at this time.

The Uintah Basin Narcotic Strike Force is a multi-jurisdiction drug task force comprised of law enforcement officers from the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office, the Roosevelt City Police Department, the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office, the Vernal City Police Department and the Naples City Police Department.
