Tri-County Health Department apologizes for inappropriate text

VERNAL, Utah – The Tri-County Health Department, which oversees Uintah, Duchesne and Daggett counties, apologized this week for a vulgar text apparently sent to some of its users by a third party.

A vulgar SMS did not come from health authorities

In a Facebook post, the health department announced that the message came from a private SMS service. The health department hired the company to disseminate information about COVID-19 vaccines. Apparently, an employee of this company responded to this message with text that contained “inappropriate, offensive and vulgar language”.

The health department announced that the SMS had been sent to 52 people.

One commenter said she received the news.

“Yes, it was very vulgar! Quite disgusting, actually! “Said Fall Reynolds Hancock.

Health department, company apologizes

Health Department officials said they fired this text messaging company but checked it with other Utah authorities.

“The inappropriate language and responses were not approved by either the TCHD or the UDOH and we sincerely apologize to everyone who received the messages. As important as vaccines are to the health of our community, we will find other ways to continue educating the public about the importance of the vaccine, ”the post reads.

People who received the vulgar text from the Ministry of Health then received another message from Public Results also apologizing. The company said the lines were written by a poor actor.

According to the Tri-County’s health authorities, the excuse was:

“Hi, this is Jessica from Public Results, a private text messaging service. You recently received a mistaken text message on behalf of the Tri-County Department of Health that was not approved by the Department. This text was sent by a poor actor and in no way reflects the professionalism and mission of TCHD. I am so sorry for the message you received and for the damage it may have caused. “

Neither the health department nor Public Results disclosed the content of the message.
