Utah COVID-19 update: 3 more deaths, 252 new cases confirmed last day

UTAH, June 8, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) – The Utah Department of Health reported three more confirmed COVID-19 deaths on Tuesday and 252 new cases last day.

Coronavirus cases documented in Utah since the pandemic began now stands at 408,068.

Number of deaths 2,316.

Those whose deaths were re-documented were:

  • A Uintah County man aged 65 to 84 who was not hospitalized at the time of death
  • A Uintah County woman aged 65 to 84 was hospitalized
  • A Utah County woman aged 65 to 84 who was hospitalized

The number of vaccinations administered is 2,657,168, an increase of 7,101 since Monday.

In Utah, 2,718,881 people underwent laboratory tests. That is 2,997 more than on Monday. The number of tests performed is 4,972,173, up from 5,705 on the last day.

The 7-day rolling average for positive tests is 256 per day.

The 7-day rolling average for the percent positivity of “people over people” is 6.6%. The 7-day rolling average for percent positivity for “tests over tests” is 4.2%.

There are currently 139 people in the hospital with COVID-19. The total number of hospital admissions since the outbreak began is 16,981.
