  • Cottages of Hope, 2724 Washington Blvd., Ogden, is currently seeking volunteer greeters and preparers for the upcoming 2023 tax season. No previous tax experience required. Training available.   • Washington Terrace Senior Center is looking for volunteers in the kitchen, Monday-Friday, 11 am to 2 pm They are also looking for a ceramic teacher to work Wednesdays and Fridays, 9 am to noon. Contact Karen at 801-621-0161.
  • Senior Companion Program is looking for individuals 55 and older who are living on moderate to low incomes to serve as companions and friends to homebound individuals in the community. Mileage, training and a small monthly stipend are available.
  • Meals on Wheels of Weber County needs volunteers to assist drivers by running meals from vehicle to door of clients. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and be in good physical condition. Must be able to enter and exit the vehicles 40-60 times per route. Outside work (exposure to all weather conditions). Call Cami at 801-399-8394.
  • If you love animals, you will love volunteering at the Safe Haven Sanctuary. We are in great need of volunteers at our cat sanctuary just west of Brigham City. Volunteering involves doing daily chores for the cats, loving them, scooping litter boxes, watering, feeding, cleaning, etc. We would need you to commit to two or three hours on whatever day you choose; the time of day is flexible, whatever suits your schedule.   • The Foster Grandparent Program and RSVP Grandparent Programs in Weber, Davis, Morgan and Box Elder counties are looking for individuals 55 years of age or older to volunteer as reading tutors to elementary school children who have fallen behind their class. Volunteers are placed at a school close to home and can serve between two to 20 hours per week. Monthly grant and mileage reimbursements are available to those who qualify.
  • Volunteers needed for Ogden ReStore. Volunteer at Habitat for Humanity’s nonprofit home-improvement thrift store to accept donated items, maintain sales floor, price merchandise, assist customers and operate the register. Contact Wendy at 814-470-1278 or [email protected] for details.

  • Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is looking for individuals 55 years of age or older to volunteer in local nonprofit organizations such as food banks, shelters, housing complexes, senior centers, wildlife centers, historical museums, schools and more. Mileage reimbursement allowed.
  • The Weber County Sport Shooting Complex is looking for volunteers for the following positions: Range safety office and range reception/cashier. Volunteers need not be certified but must have a basic knowledge of firearms, firearm safety and must take a four-hour class. Individuals must pass a background check and volunteer a minimum of eight hours per month. Training provided.
  • Davis County area is in need of Meals on Wheels volunteers — drivers and runners. Monday through Friday, hours may vary based on route; Routes are about two hours, 10 am to noon.
