  • The Ogden Nature Center, a 150-acre non-profit nature reserve, is always looking for volunteers to help with various projects and events.   • The Hill Air Force Base Retiree’s Activities Office (RAO) is looking for retired service members or spouses of retired service members to volunteer at their office. Must be able to get down to the ground and work with veterans who call or go to the office. Hours required: Monday-Friday, usually 3-hour shifts, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Contact John Maginnis at 801-721-1625.
  • The Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) seeks people 55 and older to volunteer with local nonprofit organizations such as food banks, housing, residential complexes, senior centers, wildlife centers, historical museums, schools, and more. Mileage refund allowed.
  • The Catholic Community Service offers pantry volunteer work: setting up, distributing groceries to customers, stocking shelves, tidying up, and helping with other daily projects, Tuesday through Friday from 8am to 12pm; and in the warehouse: sorting donations, packing products and other groceries, Monday-Friday 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • The Foster Grandparent Program and RSVP Grandparent Program in Weber, Davis, Morgan, and Box Elder counties seek out those 55 and older to volunteer as reading teachers for elementary school children who have lagged behind their class. The volunteers are placed in a school near where they live and can serve between two and 20 hours per week. Monthly grants and mileage allowances are available to those entitled.
  • The Davis County area needs Meals on Wheels volunteers – drivers and runners. Monday to Friday, opening times may vary depending on the route; Routes are about two hours, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Contact Jennifer Chaffe at 801-525-5052 or email [email protected].
  • United Way of Northern Utah is seeking volunteers who love children to help on the following occasions: Welcome Baby Home Visitors Volunteers who make monthly visits to teach parents about their baby’s developmental milestones; AEIOU tutors and mentors for individual work with students in schools; and Learn With Playgroup volunteers support or lead parent and child activities in their neighborhood. Fluency in Spanish is a bonus, but not a must. We ask for a commitment of two hours per month for at least six months for Welcome Baby, one hour per week for 30 weeks during the school year for AEIOU and two hours per week for six months for Learn with Playgroup.   • The Senior Companion Program seeks middle-to-low income individuals aged 55 and over to serve as companions and friends for family members in the community. Miles, training and a small monthly grant are available.
  • The Red Cross is looking for volunteers across Utah. Two positions are required here. Blood Donor Ambassador (In Person): Greet blood donors at blood donation drives with excellent customer service and ensure their check-in process goes smoothly.   • Weber County Archery Park is seeking volunteers to help with check-in, signing up for memberships, handing out equipment rentals, and as needed. Call for information on days and hours. No experience required.
  • YCC is looking for volunteers to do gardening around their facility. Opening times may vary. Contact Sandy at 801-689-1730.
  • Court-appointed Special Attorneys (CASA) give a child a voice and change their story. Must be over 21 years of age and able to pass a background check. For more information on volunteering, please visit utahcasa.org.
  • Habitat for Humanity Restore is looking for volunteers to help with cleaning, sorting, and pricing. The times to be occupied are Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • The Weber County Sport Shooting Complex is seeking volunteers for the following positions: Stand Security Office and Stand Reception / Cashier. Volunteers do not need to be certified, but do need to have a basic knowledge of firearms and firearms safety and take a four-hour course. Individuals must pass a background check and volunteer at least eight hours per month. Training will be offered.
  • Union Station museums are seeking volunteers aged 16 and over to volunteer at the John M. Browning Firearms Museum, the Utah State Railroad Museum, and the Browning-Kimball Classic Car Museum from 12pm to 4pm on Saturdays.
  • Roads to Independence is looking for a volunteer receptionist / secondary assistant. You need to fill 20-30 hours a week. Duties include answering phones, filing and assisting the office manager.
  • The Circles program through OWCAP is looking for community members to volunteer as allies and help community members break the cycle of poverty. Allies are community members who want a supportive, friendly relationship with a person or family participating in the Circles program. The volunteers must attend a weekly evening meeting and be brought together with the participants to provide assistance. Volunteers are currently using Zoom.
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters are looking for volunteers. For more information, visit the bbbsu.org website, click Be a Big, then click Get Started from the drop-down menu. You have to read and follow every step.
  • A center for grieving children needs volunteers. We are a non-profit organization that works with children, adolescents and their families who are suffering from loss through death, divorce or separation. We train all new volunteers.
