Wade Ladell Wilson | Obituaries

Wade L. Wilson passed away peacefully on June 17, 2021 after a lengthy illness at his home in Burley, Idaho.

Wade was born on May 24, 1948 in Roosevelt, Utah, to Ira and Esther Jarman Wilson. He

was the fourth of seven children. When he was two years old, his family moved to Lava Hot Springs, Idaho, where his father farmed, ran a dairy herd, and ran a gas station. When Wade was 12 years old, his family moved to Burley, Idaho, where Wade graduated

Burley High School in 1966. He attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. In 1974 he graduated from BYU.

He served as a missionary on the Eastern States Mission for Latter-day Church of Jesus Christ

Saints who served in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut from 1968 to 1970.

Wade married Sandra Kay Vigh of Burley, Idaho, in the Logan Utah Temple on March 2, 1973. They were blessed with six children.

Upon graduation, Wade trained and taught school in Pima, Arizona, and then at Madison Junior

High School, Rigby High School in Rigby, Idaho and Madison High School in Rexburg, Idaho. He was a wonderful mentor to the youth and enjoyed working with them on sports, scouting, and church programs. In 1986, Wade began working in building construction and moved his family to Flanders, New Jersey and then to Palmdale, California. They also lived in Sacramento and California City. After his retirement, he and Sandi returned to Burley.

Wade had a great sense of humor and was very generous and kind. He was an active member of

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in many roles. Wade and Sandi served as missionaries in the Philippines Cebu Mission, where he served as a counselor to the mission president.

The survivors include his six children, Elias (Brenna) from Palmdale, California, Seth (Keri) from Sandy, Utah, MacKay (Annie) from Salt Lake City, Utah, Josie McDade (Daniel) from Burley, Idaho, Quentin (Christa ) from Horseshoe Bend, Idaho, and Vince (Rachel) from South Jordan, Utah; 25 grandchildren; a sister, Sharon Beeson, of Mesa, Arizona; and five brothers, Dennis (Patricia) from Calimesa, California, Wes (Carol) from Orem, Utah, Merlin (Ramona) from South Jordan, Utah, Blair (Keri) from Burley, Idaho, and Spencer (Janine) from Saugus, California . In death he was preceded by his parents and a young son, Nathaniel.

The funeral will take place on Monday, June 28 at 11 a.m. at Latter-day Saints Church of Jesus Christ – Burley Stake Center, located at 2050 Normal Avenue in Burley. Bishop Greg Hendricks will officiate. He is buried in the Pleasant View cemetery.

Friends and family will be welcomed to the Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley on Sunday, June 27, from 5 to 7 p.m., and to the church on the Monday from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral .
